The ratio of road accident to mesothelioma deaths has been produced to indicate the extent of the asbestos legacy regionally. This modelling is not perfect. We have made adjustments to road accident deaths to reflect the 17% reduction in road deaths due to COVID lockdowns in 2020 and 12% in 2021. More information on the data sourcing and processing to compile this information can be found at asbestosinformation.org.uk.
